Blue Medieval Lady’s Attire

The Lady on the left is wearing a typical one piece dress and surcote of the late 1300s or early 1400s depending on what country they were from.

The gown pictured here on the left comes with:

• Under dress
• Surcote

This style of dress is worn with a waist belt or chain (not included). It would be worn under the surcote in the back and outside the surcote on the front.

Originating in France this was the start of showing a lady’s waist definition. This style was considered quite risque when it first came into fashion.

Trumpet Strumpet

This dress is one of those throw something on when you are in a hurry outfits. It comes in a one size fits most, and has an attached matching wrap-around braided cord that cinches the waist and is useful for hanging all the assorted cups, weapons and other accoutrements of the renaissance/medieval lifestyle needed for the village maid to keep at her side. It features full trumpet sleeves – useful for keeping hands and arms warm and for concealment of items if necessary. The deep V-neckline shows off m’lady’s cleavage to advantage as well.

The dress is made of easy care polyester panne velvet. It comes in Cardinal Red as shown here, and is also available in Hunter Green, Navy Blue, Royal Purple, Antique Gold, Black, and Burgundy Wine which are all in stock currently. Other colors available from time to time include Innocent White, Turquoise, Baby Pink, and Sky Blue.
