This style of dress is worn with a waist belt or chain (not included). It would be worn under the surcote in the back and outside the surcote on the front. Originating in France this was the start of showing a lady’s waist definition. This style was considered quite risque when it first came into fashion. NOTE: This gown is not for sale. It comes in Cardinal Red as shown here, and is also available in Hunter Green, Navy Blue, Royal Purple, Antique Gold, Black, and Burgundy Wine which are all in stock currently.
