Re-enactment Garb

Renaissance witchRenaissance and Medieval period themed costumes (or any other time period)

Jenn has been involved in period re-enactment and Renaissance festivals for 10 plus years.  She specializes in researching appropriate clothing styles, but also, since she lives in Florida, has developed many styles that look appropriate, but also can be worn in much warmer climates.

If you are looking for a time period piece, feel free to contact us about specifics.  It would be best if you know what time period you are after, what climate you will be wearing it in, how much wear and tear you feel it will receive, whether you are looking for historical accuracy in terms of fabric and construction techniques, and then of course, what your budget is.

Budget is very important in this matter, as an historically accurate item can be quite time-intensive with research plus the actual manufacturing can take quite a bit of time as well since all of the outer details must be done by hand.  If you have a limited budget and are just looking for something quick to wear once or twice, we can accommodate that as well.

Our period re-enactment garb caters primarily to the royalty classes of clothing since there is quite a lot of more casual garb available at the many events across the country.  We have three classes of clothing on this site, each with two categories.

The two categories are the Fantasy & Fun category and the Realistic & Reproduction category.

Fantasy & Fun:

This category uses current fabrics, current sewing technology and our own designs and creativity using the styles of the Medieval and Renaissance eras to produce fun garments for your wearing pleasure.  Most of these garments are suitable for hotter temperatures in southern climates.  Many are easy care (do not need dry cleaning).   Due to the use of contemporary fabrics, the cost savings can be substantial.

Realistic & Reproduction

This category uses fabrics that would have been used at the time, primarily linen, silk and wool.  These garments will all require dry cleaning.  Designs are carefully researched and strictly interpreted using the best information, drawings and patterns available.  Colors are limited as they would have been in those times. Machine stitching is only used where it is not visible on the outer surfaces of the garments.  Some substitutions are made for original materials due to limitations on availability (i.e. whalebone stays vs plastic or metal).  Since any exposed stitching will be hand-sewn, these garments will be more expensive due to the time and effort involved.

The three classes of clothing are Kings and Queens, Knights and Ladies, and Squires and Maids.

We are working to have a good selection in each of the three classes and categories for both sexes.  In the future we will be adding accessories including  undergarments, hats, shoe covers and belts, bags, jewelry and other items as we find good sources.  Check back often to see new additions.

Since most of our garments will be one-of-a-kind, you may specify a color combination preference, or a particular fabric, but once sold, a particular garment will not be re-created or reproduced again using the exact fabrics again.

We will be posting more pictures and ordering information soon – please check back often!

The two pictures above are of Jenn in two of her creations!

NOTE:  These gowns are not for sale.  They are shown for demonstration only and as an example of our work.  However if you would like one similar to one of these please contact us with your requirements and to get started with your project.
