StitchWitch Fashion was born a long time ago when a little girl decided she wanted to be a ballerina. Her mom wanted to help out and unwittingly asked if she could. She was put to work sewing on a little pink sleeve puff that was needed just a half hour later for the Sugar Plum Fairy in the famous Nutcracker ballet. It was opening night and the costume was not yet ready…

The little girl grew up and eventually became the Sugar Plum Fairy herself. Her mom became the costume designer for the ballet company for over 17 years. She designed and sewed all the costumes for an entirely new production of The Nutcracker – including the one her daughter wore as Sugar Plum. The daughter went on to dance with other national companies. The mother went on to sew other things.

Among them were the things that little girls also dream of…
